Inspiration

People often ask where writers get their ideas from.  I seem to have no trouble and as I write the characters take off on me…..some warp and weave and duck, others squirm.  I am constantly amazed how my mind works..and where it takes me. I think I know where I am heading in terms of plot, but invariably I am being taken on an unexpected journey which I find exciting and scary. One minute I can be researching what the underside of a flying albatross looks like….the next off on a tangent wondering how long a warrant for a search lasts .  I also deliberately don’t go into details about how a character looks..one of two traits and then let the imagination of the reader fill in the details.
