Book three

Im at the stage in  writing book three which I consider to be the most difficult. It is the middle. This is the same in all the books that I write. I have a story in your head that is demanding to be released from the confines of my brain and yet I cant type fast enough or write each line well enough for it to proceed at a pace, well not without going back and checking facts and it feels as though I am not progressing, except going around in every decreasing circles. In the middle of a book you are constantly asking yourself, is it good enough to continue, are my characters convincing, does the plot hurtle the reader forward, arouse sufficient curiousity in them to keep reading. Then to add to the pressure, without my consent, he story line decides of its own accord to go off into directions that was never intended, suspects look back at me as they duck and weave, and the poor detective, complelety flummoxed by now has to navigate even more obstacles, all of which that require careful crafting otherwise all credibility will be lost and the story will simply fall over.

In my third book, the protagnoist William Archer, finds himself doubly challenged. His orders are rather unusual and he finds himself in a difficult position, intellectually disinterested but a conscience that is pricking at him.  I think I know,  who the killer is but in the middle of writing, anything can happen and im never really sure. If it keeps me guessing, them I am sure its going to do the same to the reader.
